Top of the Rock in Branson, Missouri

by Sharon Harrison

When I think of Branson, I think of the shows and all the activities, but my friends showed us a different activity near Branson that I loved and highly recommend to everyone! It's called Top of the Rocks.

You start out by renting these electric golf carts to drive around the 2.5 mile Top of the Rock Lost Canyon and Nature Trail.

This paved trail highlights beautiful waterfalls and stunning rock formations.

Stop along the route to walk out on observation decks and get a better look at the area.

Drive through caves, look up at the walkway trails.

Enter one cave and find the Bat Bar where you can order a drink to sip on the rest of the drive.

Cross bridges and look at the water below.

There is a place for friends to gather and enjoy the scenery.

You might be lucky enough to see wildlife below!

The Top of the Rocks website advises that the carts are first-come first-serve and that you might want to consider booking them online to make sure you get one. As a bonus, you will get free admission into their Ancient Ozarks Natural History Museum. Carts hold up to four people and you must be at least 18 to drive one.

While you are up there, you can golf on the Jack Nicklaus Signature Course, Top of the Rock Golf Course. Make sure to book your tee time online. There are several options for wining and dining: Osage Restaurant, Buffalo Bar and Arnie's Barn. You can even enjoy a drink at the End of the Trail All-American Wine Cellar.

When you are enjoying this experience, it's hard to believe you are so close to all the shows and crowds of Branson!
