Have you ever wondered if it's really worth it to get your TSA Pre-Check? Does it really save time? Does it really make it easier to travel? I will give you five reasons why getting the TSA Pre-Check really is well worth your efforts to get it!

Having the TSA Pre-Check definitely makes traveling easier!

  1. You don't have to take off your shoes.

This is one of my favorite parts of having it, as you don't have to mess with taking off and then putting back on your shoes!

  1. You don't have to take off your belt.

This is another time saver that you don't have to mess with if you have it! Just leave it on and walk through the camera area.

  1. You don't have to take out your devices.

If you take a laptop, tablet or other devices with you, you don't have to remove those from your bag! Leave them in and run your bag through the scanner!

  1. You don't have to take out your liquids.

Leave your carry-on liquids in your bag, in the amounts allowed by the airport and you will not be hassled about the liquids you brought.

  1. Shorter lines.

This is the best part of it, the lines are usually shorter and take far less time to go through than the regular lines!

But, how do you get a TSA Pre-Check qualification on your ticket?

You simply go to https://www.tsa.gov/. Fill out the application online. It only takes about five minutes to fill it out and submit it. You must make an appointment at an enrollment center. Complete enrollment in 10 minutes at your chosen provider which includes fingerprinting, document and photo capture, and payment. The fee is between $76.75 and $85, depending on which provider you choose. Check with your credit card companies as many will cover the cost of this service. Your TSA Pre-Check number will be sent to you in an email in around 48 hours. It is valid for five years.

If you travel internationally more than four times a year, you may want to consider getting Global Entry, which allows you easier entry coming back into the United States. TSA Pre-Check only works in the US.

We used TSA Pre-Check for the first time this year. We did find it a lot easier and faster than the regular lines. I loved not having to remove my shoes, my liquids and my laptop. We considered Global Entry, but we don't travel outside of the United States enough to warrant the extra expense of it.
